Marriott Bonvoy is spotlighting the culture of sports travel with a campaign called “Where Gameday Checks In,” created with Wieden+Kennedy New York. Directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Justen Turner and Julien Turner, the spots capture the off-field moments that shape sports journeys, from hotel pep talks to postgame celebrations. The campaign features figures including UConn coach Geno Auriemma, soccer star Sam Coffey, rugby player Ilona Maher and analyst Kirk Herbstreit. It debuted in-stadium during the SheBelieves Cup and will run across TV, social and digital around events such as March Madness and U.S. soccer matches.

In addition to co-directing and writing, Justen also stepped into the editing chair, shaping the series in Adobe Premiere. Having grown up shooting home videos and cutting them in Premiere, the Turners proudly consider themselves an “Adobe family.” Working alongside co-editor Evan Campbell, Justen wove together the show’s parallel storylines, balancing simultaneous creative journeys into one cohesive, energetic edit. We caught up with Justen to learn more about the making of the series.
