Justen and Julien Turner—known as the Turner Brothers—are award-winning writer-directors and cultural storytellers shaping the intersection of sports, music, and fashion in Gen Z culture.
Raised in Champaign, Illinois, their creative journey began when Justen first picked up a camera. In 2012, they moved to Columbus, Ohio, where their parents joined the faculty at The Ohio State University. Both pursued marketing with distinction in college—Julien graduating magna cum laude from Morehouse College (2020), where he served as football team captain, and Justen graduating cum laude from The Ohio State University (2024) with a minor in fashion and retail. Julien has also completed coursework at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 and honored as Best New Directors at the London International Awards, the Turner Brothers are known for fusing humor, movement, and meaning in their work. Their portfolio includes global campaigns for Nike, Beats by Dre, and Air Jordan, with collaborators such as LeBron James, Dawn Staley, Jimmy Butler, Lil Baby, Davante Adams, and Jayson Tatum.
In partnership with James Whitner, they have directed multiple campaigns across Nike and Air Jordan collaborations—earning two Webby Awards and helping shape modern streetwear storytelling.
In 2025, they made a defining move—largely self-funding their debut comedy pilot, FreeLance, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. As they expand into television and film, the Turner Brothers continue to push creative boundaries, telling stories that resonate, inspire, and endure.
